TOEFL iBT remains the preferred English test for many US universities, especially the Ivy League and STEM Master's programs. Our 6-week TOEFL course at Sector 67 focuses on the unique demands of TOEFL — integrated tasks, computer-only test, academic register — and gets most students from 70–80 to 95+ in 6 weeks.

TOEFL iBT structure (post-2023 update)

Reading — 35 minutes, 2 academic passages, 20 questions. Skimming + scanning + inference.
Listening — 36 minutes, 3 lectures + 2 conversations, 28 questions. Note-taking discipline is everything.
Speaking — 16 minutes, 4 tasks (1 independent, 3 integrated). Recorded responses.
Writing — 29 minutes, 1 integrated + 1 "writing for an academic discussion" (replaced the old independent essay in July 2023).

What we focus on

Integrated tasks (where most students lose points)

Speaking tasks 2-4 and the integrated writing combine reading + listening + speaking/writing. Our drills focus specifically on these.

Note-taking system

TOEFL listening is brutal without a structured note-taking system. We teach the 3-column method and drill it daily.

Academic vocabulary

TOEFL uses harder vocabulary than IELTS. We work through the Academic Word List (AWL) and TOEFL-specific high-frequency words.

Speaking — recorded practice

Daily recorded speaking practice with trainer feedback on pacing, fluency, and pronunciation. We also score against ETS rubrics.

How is TOEFL different from PTE?

TOEFL is 100% computer (recorded speaking), but uses ETS human + AI scoring. PTE is 100% AI-scored (faster results). PTE rewards consistent fluency more heavily. TOEFL rewards complex vocabulary and structure more.

How long does it take to get TOEFL results?

Online viewable in 4–8 days. Official score report sent to your registered email + universities you selected during registration.

Can I retake just one section of TOEFL?

Yes — TOEFL iBT MyBest Scores combines your highest section scores from any test in the last 2 years. Many universities accept MyBest Scores. ETS also offers a single-section retake option (cheaper than full retake).
