SAT is the most widely-required standardised test for US undergraduate admissions. Since March 2024, SAT is fully digital — shorter (2 hr 14 min vs old 3 hr), adaptive, and taken on a tablet/laptop at Pearson VUE centres. Top US universities (Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Princeton, Yale) typically expect 1500+ for competitive admission. Our 12-week course targets 1450–1550+ depending on your starting diagnostic.

Digital SAT structure (March 2024+)

  • Reading & Writing — 2 modules of 27 questions, 32 min each. Adaptive: module 2 difficulty depends on module 1 performance.
  • Math — 2 modules of 22 questions, 35 min each. Adaptive. Calculator allowed throughout (built-in Desmos).

Score range: 400–1600 (R&W: 200–800, Math: 200–800). Test taken on student's own device or centre-provided device.

Our SAT pedagogy

  • Diagnostic + targeted plan — diagnostic test on day 1 identifies starting score (typical Indian student: 1100–1300). We build a customised plan to reach target.
  • Math acceleration — most Indian students score 700–800 on Math with structured prep. Math is the easier section to maximise.
  • Reading comprehension speed drills — Digital SAT R&W passages are short (25–150 words each) but tightly timed. We build reading speed + active reading.
  • Vocabulary in context — high-frequency SAT vocabulary, taught in passage context.
  • Bluebook + College Board practice — daily practice on official Bluebook app + Khan Academy SAT (now adapted for digital).

Frequently Asked Questions

What's a good SAT score for top US universities?
Ivy League / MIT / Stanford / Caltech: 1500+ (most admits 1520–1570). Top 30 (UCLA, Berkeley, Michigan, NYU): 1400–1500. Top 50 (NEU, BU, USC, Wisconsin): 1300–1400. Public flagships: 1200–1300. Test-optional (since 2020) at many schools, but submitting strong scores helps.
How long should I prep for SAT?
12–16 weeks for most students. Earlier-stage students (Class 11 entering Class 12) often spread it over 6 months with 1–2 retakes. Class 12 students should plan for 8–12 weeks of intensive prep.
Should I take SAT or ACT for US admissions?
Both are equally accepted — choose based on your strengths. SAT: more emphasis on logical reasoning, more time per question. ACT: more emphasis on speed and content (especially Science section, which SAT doesn't have). We do a diagnostic on both at intake to recommend.
How many times can I take SAT?
No limit — most students take 1–2 attempts. Many universities super-score (take your best section scores from any test). Take it for the first time in the fall of Class 12, with one optional retake in winter.
Is SAT only for undergraduate admissions?
Primarily yes. SAT is for US undergraduate (Bachelor's) admissions. Some Asian universities and a few liberal arts programs also accept it. Master's programs use GRE/GMAT/program-specific tests.
